The Battle of Lake Trasimeno took place on June 21,217 BC. Lake Trasimeno was the fixed boundary of the armies between Arezzo and Cortona. All of Hannibal's maneuvers were traps and ambushes to uncover the intentions of the Roman consul Flaminius. After the battle, Hannibal did not stay long at Lake Trasimene. His forces continued their campaign across Italy.
